Blog Entry #2 I and the world

Every person has his/her own end-of-the-world moments. It is part of life that will help us to be more alert in bigger difficulties.

I encountered a lot of problems in my life and some really did shook my world. One of it was a difficulty that I never imagined would affect my well being. My parents were separated but I'm not the child who cries every night in her sleep because of that. I'm not like that for I was like four years old when they got separated and as a kid, I dont remember any bondings I had with my family completely and as my dad as a seaman didn't help.

That difficulty made me strong--made me independent. I have a mind set of "nothing stays forever" so I better not rely on it permanently. As I grew up, it was never a problem to me. Like I don't care if my father didn't really support my studies or anything because I got my mom to fill up all of my needs.

Now the tricky part is when something happened that me and my mom got into a really huge and serious fight until now. So I stay with my father right now. It's not like he can't support me or it would be hard for him to but it's just that my father and together with her new wife didn't know budgeting so the money is not really stable. It's a problem for me because I don't want to stop in my studies or be hassled because of their financial handling problems.

But just like in country, though the Government has a lot of corrupt politician, it struggles and work hard to survive. Our country faces financial problems because of unrecorded purchases or lost money but it's still alive and keep on kicking just like me.

Blog entry #1: Five accepted definition of Sociology

SOCIOLOGY

sociology

[sō′sē·ol′əjē]
Etymology: L, socius + Gk, logos, science
the study of group behavior within a society.
When you search "Socioloogy" over the internet, a lot of definitions comes out. Some were from wikipedia and some were from blogs and most commonly, some were from online dictionaries. Some could be accurate and some could be not. So I researched about Sociology with I what I had believed to be from accurate sites.
            According to the following:
" Sociology is the study of human social relationships and institutions. Sociology’s subject matter is diverse, ranging from crime to religion, from the family to the state, from the divisions of race and social class to the shared beliefs of a common culture, and from social stability to radical change in whole societies. Unifying the study of these diverse subjects of study is sociology’s purpose of understanding how human action and consciousness both shape and are shaped by surrounding cultural and social structures."
 (c) http://sociology.unc.edu/:

"Sociology is the academic study of social behaviour, including its origins, development, organization, and institutions. It is a social science that uses various methods of emperical investigations and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order, social disorder and social change. Many sociologists aim to conduct research that may be applied directly to social policy and welfare, while others focus primarily on refining the theoretical understanding of social processes. Subject matter ranges from the micro level of individual agency and interaction to the macro level of systems and the social structure."

"Sociology, scientific study of human social behavior. As the study of humans in their collective aspect, sociology is concerned with all group activities—economic, social, political, and religious. Sociologists study such areasas bureaucracy, community, deviant behavior, family, public opinion, social change, social mobility, social stratification, and such specific problems as crime, divorce, child abuse, and substance addiction. Sociology tries to determinethe laws governing human behavior in social contexts; it is sometimes distinguished as a general social science from the special social sciences, such as economics and political science, which confine themselves to a selected group ofsocial facts or relations."

(c) http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/

"Sociology is the systematic and scientific study of human social life. Sociologists study people as they form groups and interact with one another. The groups they study may be small, such as married couples, or large, such as a subculture of suburban teenagers. Sociology places special emphasis on studying societies, both as individual entities and as elements of a global perspective. "

"Sociology is: the study of society. It is a social science involving the study of the social lives of people, groups, and societies. It is also the study of our behavior as social beings, covering everything from the analysis of short contacts between anonymous individuals on the street to the study of global social processes. It is the scientific study of social aggregations, the entities through which humans move throughout their lives'

and an overarching unification of all studies of humankind, including history, psychology, and economics."

REFLECTION:

I could say that what we had discussed and what had the textual had laid for us were almost the same. What we had shared during our first meeting were the fundamentals of Sociology. The difference between our discussion aand the textual is that in the textual, it was elaborated and expanded but the vital points were still the same. I learned that sociology studies the connection and relationship between individuals in the street and to those people on higher state. It studies how an individual unique person socialize with other individuals and how their weaknesses and strengths could be a forte to each other.

SUGGESTION:
I observed that people on my age loves interactive ativities and team buildings so I suggest to have a fun and effective games that could build our friendship and strengthen it.
